I took a week off from the novel, In The Pines, that I’m currently working on to knock out this short story that’s been trapped inside my head since I was a teenager.
The story takes place in a world where Egypt has maintained its status as the central world power into current times. It follows Gabriel Cohen who finds himself a mere bystander on a subway platform beneath the streets of Cairo, Egypt, when a phone call from his brother unraveled the fabric of his reality. In a matter of ten words, Gabriel discovered he was a fugitive, fleeing from the law, and he needed to take drastic measures to escape his world forever. A world teetering on the edge of an unprecedented transformation, a desperate plea from his brother, and Gabriel’s involvement in the Egyptian military’s top-secret ANGEL Project set the stage for a pulse-pounding sci-fi thriller. This story will reshape a world you once knew, surprising you with its twists, and rewriting history in ways you could never anticipate.
This will eventually be a part of a compilation of short stories titled ANGELS.
